Support after launch

    Application Support and Maintenance

Bluelupin provides application support and maintenance for software that is already live. We fix bugs, monitor production, apply updates and security patches, and ship enhancements and new features for web apps, portals, mobile apps and APIs. We support the software we build and existing applications your team or another vendor hands over.

What application support and maintenance covers

Our software maintenance services keep a live application working and up to date. The same Digital Experience Engineering practice that builds software also maintains it: since 2013 our teams in Noida and Bengaluru have delivered 200+ projects for clients in India and abroad.

    Support

We look into problems your users or your team report, find the cause and fix it.

    Bug fixes

Each fix is tested and released through the same process we use for new work.

    Updates and upgrades

Frameworks, libraries, runtimes and mobile OS and app store requirements keep changing. We keep the software on supported versions so it continues to run and receive security fixes.

    Security patching

We apply dependency and library patches and keep up the controls already in the software, such as role-based access, encryption and audit logs.

    Production monitoring

We watch errors, performance and uptime in the live app, and act on what we find.

    Hosting upkeep

For apps we host, we look after the servers, backups and cloud accounts as well as the application itself.

Dedicated engineers and a continuing team

Your application is looked after by dedicated engineers who know the app: its code, the people who use it and how it is released. Support can also include a continuing team that ships features from your roadmap after launch. Support hours and response times are agreed in each contract.

    • A monthly report of the fixes released and the updates and patches applied.
    • Small changes to screens, reports, fields or workflows from your list.
    • Roadmap features planned with you and shipped in regular releases.

Software we built, and software you hand over

For software Bluelupin built, the team already knows the code, so support continues from launch. Taking over an existing application from your own team or another vendor starts with a short review: we read the code, look at how the app is hosted and released, and list its main risks. Then we agree with you what support covers.

    • Access we need: the code repository, the hosting accounts and any documentation that exists.
    • What the review produces: a list of risks and the fixes to do first.
    • What happens next: regular support with an agreed scope.

Software updates and security patching, tested before release

We test every fix, update and security patch before it reaches your users, and check that the features you already rely on still work after the change. For software we build, the CI/CD pipeline and environments are set up as part of the project. For software handed over to us, we work with the release setup that already exists. When you need test automation on its own, see Quality Engineering and Test Automation.

What this service does not cover

The work below is covered by other services or by our builds.

A new system or a large new module is scoped as its own project under Custom Software Development or Enterprise Application Development. A focused module usually takes 8 to 12 weeks.

AI models, prompts and AI monitoring are handled within AI Solutions.

CI/CD setup for software we did not build is outside this service. For software we build, CI/CD, environments and cloud setup come with the project.

Moving systems to the cloud is covered under Cloud Migration and Modernization.

    How support starts

Support starts the same way whether we built the software or someone else did.

    1. Talk

You tell us what the software does, who uses it and what is going wrong or coming up.

    2. Review

We review the code, hosting and release setup. For software we built, this step is short.

    3. Agree scope

What support includes, how you report issues, how changes are approved, and the hours and response times.

    4. Fix and update

We fix issues, apply updates and patches, and release them after testing.

    5. Improve

Enhancements and roadmap features from your list, with a monthly report on the work.

You keep the code and accounts

You own the code and IP once the project is paid for, and we hand over the code repository and hosting accounts. Support works in your code repository and your accounts, so you can move the work in-house or to another team later.

    Application support FAQs

    Common questions about application support.

What is the difference between application support and maintenance?

Application support deals with problems users report, such as errors and bugs. Application maintenance is the planned work, such as framework updates and security patches, done before anything breaks. Bluelupin's Application Support and Maintenance service covers both.

What does application support and maintenance include?

Bluelupin's application support and maintenance covers reported issues, bug fixes, framework and library updates, security patches, production monitoring of errors, performance and uptime, and enhancements for software in production. For apps Bluelupin hosts, it also covers servers, backups and cloud accounts.

Can you support software another vendor or our own team built?

Yes. Bluelupin supports software built by another vendor or an in-house team. Support starts with a short review of the code, hosting and release setup, which lists the main risks and the fixes to do first. Support then runs with a scope we agree with you.

Who owns the code while you support it?

You do. We work in your code repository and your accounts, and the code and IP are yours once the project is paid for.

Can you add new features to our application?

Yes. Support can include a continuing team that ships features from your roadmap. Larger work, such as a new system, is scoped as a separate project under Custom Software Development.

    Do you apply security updates?

Yes. Security patches are tested and released like any other change, and the role-based access, encryption and audit logs already in the software stay in place.

How do we know what support has done each month?

Each month you get a report that lists the fixes we released and the updates and patches we applied.

Does support cover AI systems or DevOps?

No. Bluelupin's AI team monitors and tunes AI systems within AI Solutions. DevOps comes only with our own builds: for software we build, CI/CD, environments and cloud setup are part of the project, and we do not set up CI/CD for software we take over. Moving to the cloud is covered under Cloud Migration and Modernization.
